Position Summary

Performs routine manufacturing tasks in a production environment. Responsibilities may include operating basic equipment, assembling components, preparing materials, inspecting parts, packaging finished goods, and maintaining accurate production records.

This role requires the ability to follow documented procedures, meet production and quality expectations, and work safely in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety standards, policies, and procedures while performing assigned work.
  • Review and follow applicable prints/routings, bill of materials, work instructions, job instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform basic production activities such as assembly, machine loading/unloading, part handling, sorting, labeling, packaging, basic inspection, and material movement.
  • Complete assigned work according to established quality standards and production requirements.
  • Perform and document required first-piece and last-piece verifications as instructed.
  • Inspect parts and materials for obvious defects, damage, incorrect components, or nonconformance.
  • Notify leads, supervisors, quality personnel, or appropriate support teams of production issues, equipment concerns, safety hazards, or quality problems.
  • Use basic hand tools, fixtures, gauges, measuring devices, or production equipment as required for the assigned area.
  • Maintain accurate production records, labels, counts, traceability documents, and other required documentation.
  • Handle materials and finished goods in accordance with work instructions and inventory control requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using established housekeeping and 5S practices.
  • Support teamwork by communicating clearly with coworkers, leads, supervisors, and support departments.
  • Participate in training and demonstrate the ability to perform assigned tasks safely and correctly.
  • Follow company policies related to attendance, conduct, personal protective equipment, quality, and workplace expectations.
  • Participate in High Performance Teams, Lean initiatives, and problem-solving activities to support continuous improvement.
  • Work assignments may vary by department, production cell, product line, or business need.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Ability to read and follow basic work instructions, routings, labels, production paperwork, and visual standards.
  • Basic math skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, and quantity verification.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to recognize obvious defects, incorrect parts, or process issues and report concerns promptly.
  • Ability to work safely around production equipment, tools, moving materials, and other manufacturing hazards.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and standard work methods.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, production needs, and work assignments.
  • Basic communication skills required to ask questions, report issues, and confirm instructions.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical movements including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and twisting as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing 20–40 lbs.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for grasping, handling, assembling, operating tools, inspecting parts, and performing repetitive motions safely and consistently.
  • Ability to work at a production pace while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to maintain visual attention for quality checks, labels, gauges, parts, instructions, and other production-related requirements.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, vibration, temperature variations, dust, oils, and moving equipment.
  • The environment requires consistent attention to safety, quality, housekeeping, and standard work practices.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality, work scheduled shifts, and work overtime as required.
