With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for operating one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches and route sheets.
Essential Functions
- Perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts
- Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed
- Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surface
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks cracks or other irregularities from machined parts
- Inspect parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination and the use of gauges or other measuring instruments
- Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations while maintaining a clean work area in orderly condition
- Read analog / digital MICS / COMPAIRTORS / PROFILOMETER
- Strong lathe background preferred
- Perform other related responsibilities
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Must have manual machining experience
- Minimum 1-2 years general or related machine shop experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities
- Must demonstrate manual dexterity
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints
- Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics
- Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
