Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A commercial vehicle, primarily hauling dry van freight.
- Safely navigate and drive across various routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of hours driven, mileage, and cargo documentation in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Proven experience operating dry van trailers as a Class A Driver preferred.
- Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to commercial driving.
- Ability to operate heavy vehicles for extended periods and handle physical demands of the role.
- Strong communication skills and professionalism in dealing with clients and team members.
