We are seeking a skilled CDL Driver to join our 1st Shift team. Our 1st shift operates from 7:00AM to 3:30PM Monday evening thru Friday morning for (5) eight hour shifts with a 30 minute lunch. Overtime is required on occasion. The ideal candidate will have experience in LTL delivery, pickup, and processing paperwork/data entry to required standards. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. Under general supervision and using industry recognized safety procedures, employee will handle and deliver goods to and from vendors and customers of Parker Fabrication Inc.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver and pickup goods from/to local customers and vendors within designated routes
- Ensure timely pickups and deliveries, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Maintain a polite and cordial demeanor in the presence of customers,vendors, and coworkers
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance as required
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
- Communicate effectively with material handling, shipping, vendors, and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo as needed
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Report to material handling/shipping manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide assistance to new hires and colleagues as potential opportunities arise.
Requirements:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) years of related experience preferred
- Active CDL license applicable to assigned vehicles
- Proven experience in local delivery driving preferred
- Strong knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations
SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle operated
- Clean driving record with a focus on safety
- Excellent communication and customer/vendor service skills
- Ability to move material as required to assist with the material handling and shipping process
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and follow directions accurately
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, background check
