What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Assistant position at Parker Elementary School?
Performance Responsibilities/Duties:
- Works closely with one or a few students on a regular basis in an effort to provide instructional support.
- Supervision of students being instructed.
- Extends instruction to students after initial teacher presentation.
- Works with small groups of students to reinforce instructional material initially introduced by teacher.
- Listens to students in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks by guiding and helping them.
- Accompanies students to whom assigned when trips to the office or to the school nurse are necessary.
- Establishes as fully as possible a supportive and sympathetic relationship with the students without fostering or encouraging intense emotional involvement.
- Checks students' work as directed.
- Administers tests and individualized assessments.
- Assists with pupil records.
- Makes and files copies.
- Use and care of equipment and facilities.
- Maintains positive public relations.
- Attendance is a priority and critical for the success of students.
- Other duties as assigned by supervising teacher or principal.
Salary : $12 - $13
