Research and Development Temporary/Intern

Parker Development is seeking a motivated college graduate or graduate student to help us operate our laboratory and develop new products to meet our clients' needs in the Food, Beverage, Spirits, Hemp Derived Products and Dietary Supplements space. As the Food & Beverage Lab Intern, you will support key new product development activities in our Franklin, (Sussex County) New Jersey facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute experiments and procedures to prepare prototypes in the lab
• Produce sample products
• Assist in managing ingredient and equipment inventory and supporting documentation
• Record all relevant information related to product development, sample development & experimental design
• Support New Product Development projects
• Present the data generated to the team
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures

The Food & Beverage Lab position is well-suited for you if you are:

• Creative, friendly, self-starter with a willingness to pitch in and help
• Enjoy baking, cooking, brewing, distilling, etc.
• Able to prioritize and organize, and manage time well, while working within deadlines
• Collaborate and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and suppliers
• Can work onsite up to 40 hours per week during the internship

Required Education and Experience

• A bachelors or master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry or a related field

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated experience with hands-on food or beverage concept development formulation laboratory. Alternatively hands on chemistry work.
• Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions preferred
• Knowledge of basic laboratory practices and terminology
• Excellent verbal and written communications with strong presentations skills
• Proficiency using MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• A valid drivers license and access to a vehicle
• Must be within commuting distance
• Must be authorized to work in the USA
