What are the responsibilities and job description for the Card Technician position at Parkdale Mills Inc?
- Responsible for the full maintenance repair and breakdown for machines, including being available for call-in support as required.
- Ensure the operation of the specified machines and all components at all times, while maintaining specified production standards.
- Conduct daily checks, and initialize checklists, to verify having done so. Each technician will be responsible for doing the checks on their assigned frames. These checks are to done each morning, and the technician working on the weekend will be accountable for the checks, of all the machines, while on duty.
- Print exception reports.
- Repair any breakdowns, as they occur.
- Each technician will be responsible for the following maintenance, when the machines are down for overhauling.
- Order any necessary parts, for ensure the full maintenance of the machines.
- Perform machine settings according to specifications provided.
- Inspect all parts of machine. Repair or replace as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in AS400.
- Keep required maintenance records.
- Sharpen wire according to procedure.
- Follow-up on any quality issues.
- Report any unsafe conditions or practices to management immediately
- Perform any other duties assigned by management
- Maintain good housekeeping at all times.
- Assist in start-up / shutdown of machines.
- Notify technician or shift manager of any machine malfunctions.
SUCCESS FACTORS/JOB COMPETENCIES:
Previous mechanical and technical experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
High School Diploma or GED
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to learn and perform all scheduled job procedures independently; to keep the assigned job functioning at all times.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be physically equipped to maintain an upright, walking position for an eight (8) hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must keep work area and machines clean. Wear required personal protective equipment at all times and adhered to all safety rules and procedures.
