Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Data Analyst with hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical data teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong business analysis expertise combined with technical proficiency in cloud-based data platforms, enabling them to translate complex business requirements into scalable, data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Data Analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional data requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications, user stories, and data models.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements aligned with business objectives.
Cloud & Technical Responsibilities
- Work closely with Data Engineers and Architects on GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub) or Azure (Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Databricks).
- Support cloud-based data ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines.
- Validate data quality, completeness, and integrity across multiple cloud data sources.
- Assist in designing and optimizing data models for analytical and reporting use cases.
Reporting & Visualization
- Develop dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or Azure Monitor.
- Ensure data visualization solutions effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Agile & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison between business, product owners, and technical teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Support UAT activities by preparing test scenarios, validating data outputs, and obtaining business sign-off.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst in enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP or Azure cloud data services.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets.
- Knowledge with data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-native analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
