Position Summary

This position is responsible for sterilizing instruments, setting up treatment rooms, exposing and processing dental x-rays, and maintaining accurate patient records.

This position is responsible for sterilizing instruments, setting up treatment rooms, exposing and processing dental x-rays, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Essential Functions
- Prepare patients for dental examinations and procedures.
- Assist dentists during treatments and respond to dental or medical emergencies when necessary.
- Assist dental hygienists with procedures as needed.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up trays, and ensure operatory readiness.
- Expose and process dental x-rays while maintaining x-ray equipment.
- Record treatment information and update patient dental and medical histories in records accurately.
- Provide postoperative care instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene and plaque control.
- Take preliminary impressions for study casts and fabricate temporary restorations as directed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment compliant with infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with the care team to provide excellent patient care and support clinic efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the dental team and overall patient experience.
Education
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program
- Dental x-ray certification required
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant Qualified in General Duties (QDA) preferred
- Prior experience as a dental assistant preferred.
- AHA CPR-BLS required
