What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Toddler Teacher Assistant position at Park Vista Children's Academy?
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates Degree in Child Development or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- 2 years of early childhood education desirable/1 year of experience working in child care setting
FUNCTIONS
- Meets expectations for delivering customer satisfaction and retention
- Ability to delegate task and to communicate with assistant teachers as needed
- Provides a quality program
- Demonstrates acceptable behavior
- May share Lead responsibilities with Assistant teacher
- Complies with company policies and governmental regulation
- Keeps Director informed of any necessary information regarding the care and safety of children
- Completes timely and accurate documentation according to company and other licensing or regulation requirements
- Sets professional example for other employees
- Assists in any other area of program as needed
- Attends and participates in parent/ staff meetings, trainings, and center events as requested
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent organizational skills required
- Ability to be flexible in assignment, tasks and work hours required and respond quickly and appropriately to changing environments. Schedule is based on needs of program
- CPR/First Aid certification and Shaken Baby and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome training or willingness to obtain
- Housekeeping of work area
- For driver’s, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to drive center’s vehicles
- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills required. Must possess excellent visual and hearing capabilities in order to monitor the environment and children’s well being.
- Obtain 20 child development focused training a year
- Adhere to dress code and all other company policies and procedures
- Is cross-trained in all age groups in order to step in place of a teacher that might be absent.
- Must be available from the hours of 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
- Must understand that you are not guaranteed 40 hrs of work per week and that your schedule may change at any point in time.
This job requires physical work inside/outside and occasionally off site for field trips.
- Employee must be able to lift 40 lbs continuously throughout day
- Stand up at least 95% of the day
- Stoop, sit on floor, bend to perform various tasks throughout day
- Have the ability to move from sitting to standing position promptly to respond to emergency situations.
- Able to perform all activities with children, example: jump, dance, walk, run, etc. for extended period of time
- Sustain High level of energy throughout day
- Assume posture in low level positions that best allow physical and visual contact with children.
- Depending upon activity, both indoor and outdoor activities are a regular part of routine day, employees must be able to spend prolonged time outdoors.
- Must be able to excel in a continuously changing environment
