Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that foster early childhood development, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere by managing behavior effectively and encouraging cooperation among children.
- Conduct classroom activities that support child development instruction, including hands-on learning experiences tailored to toddlers and preschoolers.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records related to child welfare and incident reports.
- Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards, including first aid and CPR certification requirements.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in preschool or early childhood education settings is essential.
- Knowledge of child development principles, childhood development milestones, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education strategies.
- Familiarity with behavior management methods, classroom management best practices, and working with students with special needs.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining flexibility in daily routines.
- Experience teaching physical education or integrating movement activities into daily lessons is advantageous.
