Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Shuttle Driver with a Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) and Passenger Endorsement to provide safe, efficient, and courteous transportation services. In this role, you will operate shuttle vehicles on city streets and designated routes to and from the airport, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs for passengers with a focus on safety, customer service, and adherence to transportation regulations. Your energetic approach will help create a positive experience for all riders while maintaining the highest standards of vehicle safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate shuttle vehicles with a Class B CDL and Passenger Endorsement, navigating city streets and designated routes efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper functioning of all vehicle systems.
  • Assist passengers, with luggage, including those with special needs or mobility challenges, providing friendly and professional passenger assistance at stops and during transit.
  • Follow all traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, state transportation rules, and safety protocols to ensure passenger safety at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch using two-way radios for driver communication, updates, and route adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate logs of trips, vehicle inspections, and any incidents or irregularities encountered during shifts.
  • Respond appropriately to adverse weather conditions or traffic disruptions to ensure passenger safety and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement required; experience driving motor coaches, school buses, limousines, or shuttle vehicles preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle inspections and maintenance awareness.
  • Proven defensive driving skills with a clean driving record adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of city street navigation, transportation safety regulations, and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
  • Excellent communication skills in English for interacting with passengers and team members effectively.
  • Experience with vehicle inspections, passenger assistance—including those with special needs—and driving in adverse weather conditions is highly desirable.
  • Prior delivery driver experience or similar roles involving transportation safety regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities would include:

Cover open shifts on short notice when necessary, responsible for being at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform. Courteously assist customers and employees alike by answering any questions they may have. If necessary, direct the customer to the Facility/Operations Manager for further assistance. Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility/Operations Manager. Facilitate monthly driver meetings, company training requirements, and changes to daily operating procedures as necessary. Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of field operations, thorough knowledge of all SFO Airport terminals and the major streets, landmarks and freeways in area. Assist Facility/Operations Managers with other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Education Required: High School Degree or equivalent.

Experience/Knowledge: Prior knowledge or experience with shuttle driving, dispatched transportation operations, scheduling.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on needs working swing or graveyard.

License Requirement: The individual will be required to have and maintain a valid CA-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record with a CDL class b passenger endorsement.

Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, write, speak and communicate all aspects of job-related information in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers and other employees of the company.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract. Ability to understand and adhere to Hours of Service regulations, including frequent calculations involving quarter hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to change frequently between a sitting and standing position, help customers with any and all luggage as needed to service the customer. Driving when customers are backed up and delayed times with shuttles to keep the consistency for the company's policy of running shuttles every 5-7 minutes to and from airport. Also, the employee is required to use a phone or two-way radio.

Pay: $24.50 - $27.50 per hour
