What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Maintenance Assistant, Seasonal (44834) position at PARK RIDGE PARK DISTRICT?
Description: The Park Ridge Park District has openings for Seasonal Park Maintenance staff to assist in the physical maintenance of the district’s buildings and grounds. Duties may include general landscape maintenance; including operating a riding lawn mower, watering various plants, general park and facility maintenance using various tools and physical labor, and other maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor or manager. Duties also involve contact with the general public and Park District staff. A pleasant demeanor and good judgment must be exercised in dealing with a broad variety of assignments.
Qualifications: No previous experience is necessary. Must have a good understanding of the English language and be able to communicate well with patrons and staff. Selected candidate needs to be a minimum of 18 years of age in order to operate power equipment and the ability to regularly lift objects up to 50 pounds. Due to the lifting requirement, selected individuals will be required to take a post-offer back assessment/lift test.
Availability: We are seeking applicants to work 5 days a week, Monday through Sunday, up to 40 hours per week beginning in May through approximately the end of September.
