High School Science Teacher

The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for science and foster critical thinking skills through innovative teaching methods. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and district curriculum.
• Deliver high-quality instruction in various science subjects, including biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods, including tests, projects, and presentations.
• Provide timely feedback to students and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and behavior.
• Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance learning and engage students.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in science.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects and promote a cohesive science curriculum.
• Supervise and engage students during laboratory experiments and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Support extracurricular activities, such as science clubs or competitions, to further enrich students' learning experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in secondary science education for the state of Minnesota.
• Strong knowledge of science concepts and the ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and accommodating diverse learning needs.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and development in the field of education.
