Duties
- Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients following all regulatory guidelines and facility protocols
- Monitor and document patient responses to medications, reporting any adverse effects or concerns promptly
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support for residents with various needs
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to ensure compliance and continuity of care
- Support specialized care programs including memory care, hospice, and dementia care by implementing tailored interventions
- Conduct vital signs assessments and assist with procedures such as catheter care or tube feeding as directed by nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Medication Aide or Certified Medication Technician (CMT) in accordance with state regulations
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation
- Experience caring for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail and compassion
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for safeguarding patient information
