Job Title: Director (or Associate Pastor) of Worship Arts
Job Summary
The Director (or Associate Pastor depending upon the candidate) of Worship Arts will create and empower expressions of worship and seasonal events through the arts in support of and engagement with the mission of Park Place Church of God. The Director (Associate Pastor) will engage with the Staff Ministry Team (SMT) to collaboratively facilitate and lead corporate worship experiences.
What you’ll do
- Cast vision for Worship Arts Ministry in the context of the overarching Park Place Church vision.
- Plan, prepare, and implement Sunday morning worship services.
- Recruit, oversee, and empower Worship Arts volunteers.
- Collaborate with creating and implementing seasonal worship events and services outside of Sunday morning.
- Provide input and coordinate technological and graphic design aspects of the worship service.
- Maintain strong connections with the staff ministry team and worship arts groups (e.g., choir, handbells, kids’ choir, drama, etc.)
Preferred qualifications
- The Director (or Associate Pastor) of Worship Arts will lead with integrity and a keen sense of ethical discernment. They will be able to work well in collaboration with a wide range of ages and team configurations and lead with confidence into uncharted areas as the ministry navigates growth and change. This person will exhibit exceptional skills in organization, oral and written communication, and creative planning. They will be in an ongoing and active process toward emotional health engaging spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional health professionals and communities in appropriate ways. This person will demonstrate a high standard of excellence in production expressions balanced by a high value of pastoral care for, and collaboration with, parishioners.
- The Director (or Associate Pastor) will possess a keen sense of appreciation for the arts and artists, empowering artists to present a first fruits offering in response to the Master Creator God through a wide range of worship expressions and experiences. The Director (or Associate Pastor) will create an environment where the arts are celebrated as a part of the faith community’s outpouring of worship and strategic vision.
- A degree in ministry, music, worship, or related fields desired. A background and experience in congregational ministry highly preferred. Candidates should possess a working knowledge of technology in the context of worship and the arts environments.
- Stooping, bending, flexibility and physical stamina with lifting and moving of up to 30lbs. will be beneficial to the physical aspects of this role.
Relationships
The Director (or Associate Pastor) of Worship Arts reports to the Lead Pastor and provides oversight for Worship Arts volunteers.
There will be a covenant relationship between the Director (or Associate Pastor) of Worship Arts, the Staff Ministry Team, the Servant Leadership Board, and the Park Place Church of God congregation. The relationship will be founded on a mutual choice for the eternal God, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit to be the center of our lives. That “center” will be expressed through lifestyle habits, worship practices, and professional interactions within the context of Park Place Church of God as a living embodiment of God’s church in the Anderson community.
