Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and surgeries.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterile and ready for use.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment.
Skills
- Proficient in dental assisting techniques with a solid understanding of anatomy knowledge.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is beneficial.
- Ability to perform aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
