JOB DESCRIPTION
Provides and manages direct nursing care to patients with a specific disease or health condition. Autonomously and in collaboration with sponsoring physicians, provides advanced assessment, planning, implementation, intervention, and evaluation skills. Provides follow-up care to pre-established patients using written protocols within the scope of practice and PNHS standards.
Work Schedule:
- Weekdays, daytime hours: Eight hour shifts M-F between 7:45 am - 5:00 pm
Required Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Associate degree in nursing will be considered if currently enrolled in or willing to matriculate to a Baccalaureate degree program in nursing.
- A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in the specialty area of clinical practice are also required with either degree.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- The candidate must also have successfully completed a formal training program or equivalent approved job preparation to qualify for certification (if available) in the specialty area of nursing.
- Certification in the clinical specialty (if available) or in Ambulatory Care Nursing is required within two years of hire.
- The incumbent must maintain a current state certified registered nurse’s licensure and BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.
- Able to operate the following safely and effectively: various health testing devices (depending upon the area of specialty), telephone, CRT, printer, and photocopier.

- Strong clinical and human relations skills
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics established by the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS.
- Basic keyboarding skills
