What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026 Elementary Summer School Gym Supervisor position at Park Hill School District?
Dates: June 1, 2026 - June 26, 2026 *No School June 19*
PLEASE NOTE: Depending on snow days, summer school dates might change.
Locations & Times:
Grades K-5 - Early Start
Chinn, English Landing, Graden (with Southeast), Hopewell, Line Creek, Prairie Point (with Gerner), Tiffany Ridge (with Renner)
Summer School Program Hours:
8:15 am - 3:15 pm
Grades K-5 - Traditional Start
Angeline Washington (with Hawthorn), Union Chapel
Summer School Program Hours:
9:15 am - 4:15 pm
Work Hours:
Work hours will be determined by the Summer School Administrator.
$16.86 per hour.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. GED or High School Diploma preferred.
2. Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively with supervisor.
3. Friendly and shows patience with children.
4. Works well with children.
5. Ability to lift 40 lbs to waist height occasionally.
6. Good agility & mobility with physical stamina to move about hard & soft play areas.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal or Summer School Administrator
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directs the orderly and organized movement of students to and from the gym in an orderly and organized manner.
2. Organizes activities in the gym by directing students.
3. Periodically inspects the safety of equipment in the gym and report any safety concerns. Responds immediately to any safety complaints made by students.
4. Assumes responsibility for play equipment used by children in the gym.
5. Consistently carries through with the rules established by the summer school administrator.
6. Sends students to the nurse on matters that require immediate medical attention.
7. Follows through with communication with teachers on students who are disruptive or don’t follow the rules established for the gym.
8. Notifies summer school site administrator of serious accidents in the gym and completes all necessary forms for reporting student accidents.
9. Maintains a pleasant and enthusiastic attitude while on the job.
10. Moves about the play area (hard & soft surfaces) and moves quickly to students who are posing a risk to themselves or others.
