Description: This position is responsible for the care, custody and control of inmates at the Park County Jail.
Essential Duties: Following departmental policies and procedures, this position performs supervision of assigned inmates; maintains care, custody, control and accountability of assigned inmates; conducts security and welfare checks of assigned inmates and areas; observes and controls inmate movement; searches for contraband; prevents inmate escapes, assaults or injury of inmates and staff; ensures each inmate receives meals, clothing changes, mail, exercise opportunities; monitors inmate behavior and attitudes; enforces rules for inmates; prepares written reports; verifies inventory of inmate clothing, personal property and money with written records; operates two-way radio using proper FCC procedures.

Job Location: Park County Jail, Fairplay, Colorado
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum one year law enforcement/detention experience preferred; must be 18 years or older; must consent to and pass a background check; valid Colorado Drivers License; must pass drug screening, physical and psychological evaluation.
Special Requirements
Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a background check.
