Role:
By emphasizing ONE Park, ONE mission, ONE team, the Loan Servicer II assists the credit union by ensuring that information is accurate and maintaining credit union record files with established processes to minimize credit union risk and/or losses. This role provides a proficient level of loan servicing knowledge, demonstrating the ability to work with loans of moderate complexity. Significant emphasis is placed on knowledge of mortgage servicing and escrow requirements. This role also serves as a departmental resource for others.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Perform servicing duties including loan advances, rate change notices/maturity letters, tax agency reporting, payment maintenance, payoffs, releases, etc. Work with third parties to track insurance and taxes. Research and resolve payment, insurance and tax issues, etc. Post and balance daily transactions including payment and new loan reconciliation. Work exception reports as necessary and work with appropriate parties to balance/reconcile general ledger for mortgage transactions.
  • Accurately perform escrow disbursements as required to meet payment deadlines for insurance and tax bills. Analyze escrow accounts, ARM changes, home equity changes and monthly reports advising manager of any discrepancies or recommendations. Distribute required notices for escrow analysis, ARM adjustments, etc. in accordance with regulatory requirements. Perform all servicing-related activities in a manner that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of rules, policies and procedures governing all loan classes. Provide support on processes and act as a resource to departmental staff and troubleshoot servicing matters. Assist with internal/external audits to resolve process issues.
  • Work on special projects or assignments as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

3. To service loans, work reports and submit required data timely.
4. To perform timely disbursement of escrow payments.
5. To cross sell credit union products and services.
6. To follow the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures, including running OFAC searches, completing investigative reports of suspicious activity and currency transaction reports timely and without error.
7. To maintain a professional work environment, promote teamwork, build respect among coworkers and present a businesslike appearance.
8. To follow all security policies and procedures and report discrepancies or suspicious activity to manager immediately.
9. To maintain working knowledge of mortgage servicing and compliance, both within the credit union and from the industry overall.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills Extensive knowledge of real estate servicing practices and compliance is necessary. Should be able to run spreadsheet and word processing software.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and on occasion lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
