Role:
By emphasizing ONE Park, ONE Mission, ONE Team, the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Community and Culture drives Park Community's commitment to a thriving workplace and stronger communities. This role leads the Learning & Development and Programs & Partnerships functions, ensuring that employee growth, engagement, and culture-building are integrated with community partnerships and external relationships. The AVP is responsible for growing and sustaining Park's culture, advancing employee development, expanding employee engagement strategies, and building meaningful community and organizational partnerships that reinforce Park's mission and values.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee the Learning & Development function to ensure training, leadership development, and professional growth opportunities are strategically aligned with organizational objectives. This includes developing and delivering programs that strengthen employee skills and knowledge, create leadership pipelines, and ensure content is relevant, forward-thinking, and reflective of Park’s mission and values. Evaluate learning programs ensuring an elite employee experience. Monitor program effectiveness through data-driven insights, collaborate with leaders across the organization to identify needs, and ensure all learning initiatives foster continuous growth and empowerment.
  • Lead efforts to cultivate and maintain a positive, inclusive, and purpose-driven culture across the credit union. Develop and execute strategies that enhance employee engagement, recognition, and belonging while ensuring that Park’s values are lived daily. Partner with leadership, managers, and committees to create initiatives that celebrate achievements, encourage collaboration, and sustain Park’s reputation as an employer of choice. Utilize tools to obtain feedback; evaluate input, and take actions, as necessary, responding to information obtained.
  • Direct Programs & Partnerships, in conjunction with Multicultural Engagement, to expand Park’s visibility and strengthen relationships with potential members, nonprofits, schools, and community businesses/organizations. Oversee community engagement strategies to grow membership, enhance participation with current partners, and launch initiatives that support financial education, community impact, and business growth. Direct efforts for partners and programs are aligned to be intentional, measurable, and reflect Park’s mission of building thriving communities together; oversee established partnerships ensuring deliverable from the credit union and/or the partner or entity. Provide tracking and reporting as required or requested.
  • Provide strategic input into organizational initiatives, aligning people-development, culture, and community engagement strategies with Park’s long-term goals. Contribute to budget planning, evaluating program ROI, and recommending new initiatives to enhance employee and member experiences. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across HR, Operations, Retail, and Marketing to ensure initiatives are integrated, well-communicated, and executed effectively.
  • Lead and develop staff within both Learning & Development and Programs & Partnerships. This includes hiring, coaching, and holding team members accountable for achieving department goals while modeling Park’s culture and leadership expectations. Provide clear direction, create development opportunities for staff, and foster teamwork across departments.

Performance Measurements:

2. To provide friendly, professional and accurate service and support to all members and coworkers.
3. Deliver training and development programs that meet organizational goals and produce measurable improvements in employee performance and leadership readiness.
4. Strengthen employee engagement through programs, initiatives, and recognition efforts that promote belonging and retention.
5. Expand Park’s presence and impact in the community by developing and sustaining strong partnerships with other businesses and community organizations.
6. Achieve department goals within approved budgets while demonstrating ROI for programs and initiatives.
7. To follow the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures, including running OFAC searches, completing investigative reports of suspicious activity and currency transaction reports timely and without error.
8. To maintain a professional work environment, promote teamwork, build respect among coworkers and present a businesslike appearance.
9. To follow all security policies and procedures and report discrepancies or suspicious activity to manager immediately.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Five years to eight years of progressive leadership experience in Learning & Development, Culture/Engagement, Program Development, Partnership Management, or Community Relations, with a demonstrated record of building programs and partnerships.
Education (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree. Professional certifications in leadership development or business development are a plus.
Interpersonal Skills Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.
Other Skills Proven ability to implement employee development and engagement strategies. Strong relationship-building and partnership management skills with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent public speaking, facilitation, and communication skills. Analytical skills for evaluating program effectiveness and return on investment. Ability to lead, coach, and inspire teams to deliver results aligned with organizational culture and mission.
