Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Ensure infection prevention measures are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to provide seamless patient care
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state or regional licensing boards
- Eaglesoft
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care
- Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety
- Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Knowledge of infection prevention management, including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
