Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care and support rehabilitation efforts across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health. Your expertise in physiotherapy techniques and patient management will be essential in helping patients achieve their recovery goals.
Duties
Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
Administer therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy, and exercise programs.
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and discharge planning.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Provide support in various settings including acute care, outpatient clinics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.
Uphold medical terminology standards while communicating with patients and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to physical therapy practices.
Familiarity with medical terminology related to rehabilitation services.
Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings is preferred.
Strong understanding of patient care principles and the ability to develop effective care plans.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
