Baker and Kitchen Prep

The ideal Baker & Kitchen Prep staff member is passionate about food, quality, and teamwork. They need to prepare a variety of baked goods and savory items, maintain clean and sanitized work areas, and bring a positive attitude to work every day. This position is hands on, fast paced, and community focused.

Hours/Schedule

• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Available to start work at 4:00 AM and be available for weekends, holidays, and flexible scheduling.
• Proactive in requesting time off and reporting any errors in clocking in/out.

Baking, Food, and Item Preparation

• Mix, shape, bake, and finish bagels, scones, cookies, and other pastry products.
• Prepare cream cheese spreads, spreads, roasted meats, and other kitchen items according to recipes.
• Label, package, and organize products for service and distribution.
• Ensure high quality, consistency, and presentation of all food items.
• Comply with all health and safety standards.

Communication with Leads and Staff

• Ability to communicate about questions, issues, confusion, or any other items that may arise.
• Receptive to positive and constructive feedback.
• Work with fellow team members to develop a strong and collaborative team.
• Receives delegation and direction in a variety of work tasks in the bakery and kitchen.
• Contributes to the shift in positive and productive ways.

Other Requirements

• Ability to understand instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
• Ability to perform many different tasks in each shift.
• Maintains proper attendance and punctuality.
• Perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks in both the bakery and kitchen areas.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly: $21
• Shift Meal: Drink Sandwich each shift
• Insurance: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance available after 90 days
• Matching 401K: Matching 401K after one year of employment
• Sick Time: 5 days (accrue one hour for every thirty (30) hours worked, up to forty (40) hours per year)

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The person in this position needs to move about the bakery and cafe efficiently.. They need to be able to stand on their feet for up to 8 hours. They need to position themselves to move products from below the counter and reach above their head. They need to frequently communicate accurate information with coworkers. They are constantly using knives, peels, and constructing food and baked goods. The employee must be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds around the bakery and cafe.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
