Position Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Loan Officer, where you will be at the forefront of helping clients achieve their financial goals through expert loan origination and customer service. The Loan Officer is responsible for supporting Parishioners Federal Credit Union’s mission, strategic priorities, and member-centric culture by originating, underwriting, processing, and servicing consumer and real estate loans. This role directly supports the Credit Union’s strategic pillars — Engage, Invest, and Serve — by building trusted member relationships, responsibly deploying capital through sound lending practices, and delivering consistent, high-quality service.

The Loan Officer works collaboratively with leadership and staff to ensure lending operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals while maintaining loan files in an exam-ready condition at all times.

In this role, the Loan Officer also supports Parishioners Federal Credit Union’s long-standing commitment to the Catholic community and its partnership with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. This position requires cultural awareness, professionalism, and sensitivity when serving Catholic parishes, schools, ministries, Archdiocesan employees, and affiliated organizations, while upholding the Credit Union’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Engage

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for members regarding consumer and real estate lending products, rates, terms, and underwriting requirements
  • Interview members and actively listen to financial needs in order to recommend appropriate lending solutions
  • Build and maintain strong member relationships through exceptional service
  • Educate members on Credit Union products and services and support cross-selling efforts

· Build trusted relationships through education and personalized lending solutions

· Support lending services for members within the Catholic community and Archdiocese of Los Angeles

· Provide respectful, mission-aligned service to parishes, schools, ministries, and Archdiocesan employees

Invest

  • Review, analyze, and underwrite loan applications in accordance with Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements
  • Process, fund, and disburse approved loans accurately and within established timelines
  • Obtain and verify income, credit, and collateral documentation
  • Support responsible balance-sheet growth through disciplined underwriting
  • Assist with development and implementation of new loan programs

Serve

  • Maintain loan files in exam-ready condition
  • Prepare disclosures and final loan documents
  • Process and track DMV, title, and insurance documentation
  • Respond to consumer credit disputes through E-OSCAR
  • Follow up on delinquent and pending loan accounts
  • Open new member accounts as needed
  • Serve as Notary Public and Credit Committee member when assigned
  • Assist with reporting, training, and operational support
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; college degree preferred
  • 2–5 years of lending experience
  • Knowledge of consumer and real estate lending
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual Armenian/English or Spanish/English preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, operate office equipment, lift up to 20 pounds, and communicate effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $54,000.00 per year
