Pariser Dermatology Specialists has been providing dermatology services to the Hampton Roads community for more than 75 years. Today, Pariser Dermatology Specialists has seven locations across Hampton Roads and is one of the largest independent dermatology practices in the country.
Are you looking for a rewarding career in a fast paced environment? We are currently hiring a Surgery Assistant to join our team in our Moh's surgery department in the Norfolk office. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to build a strong rapport with providers and patients.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare rooms and surgery trays for the physician
- Triage patients to include medical history
- Prepare patients for surgery
- Assist physician with surgeries
- Administer lidocaine in preparation for surgery
- Provide post-operative care, including dressing changes and post-operative instructions
- Suture removal
- Cleaning instruments and understanding of sterile technique
- Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned
- Regular and reliable attendance at assigned facility required
- Entering and documenting all referrals, orders and prescriptions as directed by provider to ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient’s visit
- TRAVEL MAY BE REQUIRED AS NEEDED TO HELP OTHER SURGERY TEAMS
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience as a surgery assistant is preferred
- Prior experience as a medical assistant is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills; friendly and engaging self-starter that works well in high pressure situations
- Ability to problem solve in a strong, confident manner
- Experience with electronic medical record systems is preferable
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
