Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Activity Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities for individuals, particularly those with disabilities, seniors, or dementia care needs. This role requires a compassionate individual who can effectively communicate and connect with participants to enhance their quality of life through recreational therapy and community involvement.
Duties
- Develop and implement a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of participants.
- Coordinate event planning, including scheduling, logistics, and resource management.
- Assist individuals in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout.
- Maintain effective communication with participants, families, and staff to promote engagement and feedback.
- Manage schedules for activities to ensure optimal participation and resource allocation.
- Provide care and support to individuals with disabilities or dementia during activities.
- Collaborate with other team members to create a supportive environment that fosters social interaction and community integration.
Experience
- Previous experience in recreational therapy or working with people with disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with home community care practices is a plus.
- Experience in senior care settings or assisting individuals with dementia is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with participants, families, and colleagues.
- A background in event planning will be beneficial for coordinating successful activities.
