WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR
Our Cake Team Members are true masters of their crafts. Under this role, you will be responsible for preparing cakes, creams, fillings and other small pastries. The ideal candidate will help to achieve our mission to bring expertly crafted goods to our guests through a warm and welcoming bakery café experience that delivers joy to everyone.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day Shifts available. Start time at 5am
- Detail oriented
- Responsible for filling, decorating and producing of all cakes, slices and tarts
- General knowledge of production methods and organization of Confectionary production
- Learn new products and skills and has ability to demonstrate proper techniques to new team members
- Sanitization procedures, maintaining overall cleanliness of work station
- Must be able to manage time and skills with strong organization
- Knowledge of all recipes and procedures of all production
- Ensure cake display is presentable for internal team members and external customers
- Make creams and fillings for cakes and tarts
- Receive orders
- Store food in designated containers, and storage areas in an organized manner
- Communicate efficiently with supervisor/management
- Clean and sanitize refrigerator, freezer and storage, as well as work areas (counters/floors), equipment, containers, utensils and dishes.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
- 1 year of food handling experience in a commercial kitchen
- 1 years of cake/pastry decorating
- Portfolio (not required)
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and knife handling
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- The ability to work with diverse teams by being highly empathetic, intuitive, self- motivated and driven.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task
