Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour

About the Position
Parent Care Home Care, LLC is seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Brooklyn office.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing weekly payroll accurately and on time, reviewing employee time and attendance, maintaining payroll records, and responding to payroll-related inquiries. This position will work closely with the Controller, Human Resources, and Operations teams to ensure payroll is processed accurately and in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and experience processing payroll for hourly employees in a home care or healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Review employee hours, overtime, timekeeping records, and payroll adjustments.
- Verify time and attendance records and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records.
- Process payroll changes, deductions, bonuses, corrections, PTO, and in-service payments.
- Set up and maintain employee direct deposit information.
- Complete and process employment and wage verifications.
- Assist with wage parity calculations, deductions, and compliance requirements.
- Understand and properly apply applicable home care wage parity requirements.
- Respond professionally to employee questions regarding paychecks, deductions, hours, PTO, and payroll matters.
- Work closely with HR and Operations to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Ensure payroll information is entered accurately into the payroll system.
- Prepare and maintain payroll reports.
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and related reviews.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll and personal information.
- Follow company policies, payroll procedures, and applicable requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for payroll changes and corrections.
- Perform other payroll and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous payroll experience required.
- 1–2 years of payroll experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll, timekeeping, overtime, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
- Knowledge of wage parity requirements is strongly preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
- Experience with Excel Force and HHA Exchange is a plus.
