Employment Status: Contracted through Edustaff (if applicable)
Shift: est. 7:30-3:30 for Middle and High School, 8:15-4:15 for Elementaries, as needed
Rate: $12.72-$15.83
SUMMARY: The Substitute Secretary provides clerical and organizational support to ensure the smooth operation of the school office and assigned areas. Depending on the assignment, duties may include assisting with attendance, library/media center support, and other secretarial tasks to maintain efficient daily functions in the school district. Assignments will be on a as-needed, on-call basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior office, secretarial, or school experience preferred.
- Must maintain confidentiality and integrity at all times.
- Must be accurate, efficient, and capable of handling detailed work assignments
- Ability to get along and communicate with staff, administrators, public, and others.
- Display excellent organizational, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills while maintaining strict confidentiality.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and assist students, staff, parents, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information at all times.
- Provide clerical support such as filing, copying, data entry, and maintaining records.
- Assist in the library/media center, which may include; Checking books and resources in/out to students and staff. Shelving and organizing library materials.
- Operate standard office equipment (computer, copier, fax).
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the administrator.
