The Cost Accountant will play an important role in supporting accurate product costing, inventory analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, internal controls, and process improvements across multiple business entities.

What You’ll Do
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal control procedures
- Review journal entries submitted by plant finance teams for accuracy and completeness
- Enter approved journal entries into the ERP system
- Perform inventory costing for new and existing products
- Support ad hoc costing requests from manufacturing plants and new product development teams
- Assist with the annual standard cost calculation and review process
- Analyze inventory costs to identify errors, trends, and root causes
- Review costs related to materials, labor, overhead, and bills of materials
- Partner with accounting, operations, and other business teams to improve processes and strengthen financial reporting accuracy
- Communicate findings clearly to colleagues and leadership
- Ensure accounting work is completed in accordance with GAAP
- Support SOX, SEC, audit, and compliance-related reporting requirements
- Assist with special projects and other finance-related requests as needed
Occasional late nights or weekend work may be required during close, audit, or project deadlines.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred; equivalent related experience may be considered
- CPA or CMA license, or active pursuit of CPA/CMA, preferred
- Prior accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing finance experience preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
- Experience with Power BI preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- High attention to detail and commitment to accurate financial reporting
