Your Role: Director/Administrator of the Discovery Learning Center (DLC)
We’re looking for a high-energy, people-focused leader who thrives in dynamic environments and has a passion for inspiring teams. As Director of DLC, you’ll lead a purpose-driven early intervention preschool for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this role, you’ll empower educators, guide programming, and ensure high-quality services that create meaningful impact for children and families.

What You’ll Lead & Influence
- Inspire, coach, and develop a passionate team: 1 Assistant Director, up to 30 teachers/assistants, and 3 bus aides.
- Cultivate a high-performing, positive culture where educators feel supported, motivated, and connected to our mission.
- Build strong relationships with community partners and funding agencies (ELC, JWB) as the face of DLC.
- Guide and maintain compliance with agency and grantor requirements (JWB, ELC, VPK), ensuring program excellence.
- Lead enrollment, tuition billing, budgeting, and documentation processes with precision and strategic oversight.
- Partner with the food services team to maintain standards of the Florida Food Program and ensure students receive healthy meals.
- Ensure staffing coverage and classroom ratios are consistently maintained with agility and foresight.
- Create and facilitate engaging team trainings, ongoing education, and innovative development opportunities.
- Organize and lead school-wide safety drills and proactive planning (fire, hurricane, active shooter, etc.).
- Oversee all family engagement, classroom communication, and center-wide events.
- Provide classroom support when needed to sustain energy and excellence.
- Proactively manage staff onboarding, timecards, PTO requests, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct parent tours, address concerns, and foster family trust and engagement.
- Take initiative on special projects and evolving needs to elevate the DLC experience.
What You Bring

- A track record of building teams and fostering collaboration.
- BA in a related field with at least 3 years of experience OR CDA with 5 years in early intervention or childcare.
- Current Florida Director’s Credential with VPK Endorsement (required).
- Experience with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ages 0–5) strongly preferred.
- Completion of School Readiness and Teaching Strategies Gold certifications (or ability to obtain).
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
Schedule & Work Environment
- On-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with flexibility based on center needs).
