Paramount Supply is a locally-owned, industrial distributor that specializes in the sale of pipe, valves, fittings, steam products, instrumentation, gaskets and much more. The company was founded in 1954 and has grown to 20 locations across 7 states. One of our Washington regions is seeking a Technical Engineered Sales representative, which requires a constructive and energetic style, guided by customer driven problem solving and solution based customer facility and site exploration resulting in product sales, discovery of new sales opportunities, key account management and, above all, customer service. This position is responsible for the development, coordination, hands on direct and indirect sales with an assigned group of accounts coupled with analyzing existing and new accounts for additional sales opportunities in the Northern/Central Washington region. The selected candidate will serve as a technical adviser to customers, engineering firms and our general line account managers on product selection and use. Must be analytical, have strong problem solving skills, excellent communication (both written and verbal), a strong technical skill in the fields of piping systems, valves, sealing products (gaskets, packings, mechanical seals, etc.), pumps, steam and condensate systems and similar applications to support our full line of product offerings. Candidates must have the ability to learn details of new products and be willing and able to present these products to engineers, customers and our team.
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBIITIES:
- Provides existing and new clients with excellent customer service and solution based sales.
- Generates sales leads, follows up on referrals, and qualify potential customers.
- Works with Sales Manager to establish and implement targeted sales opportunities, build quotes for current and new accounts within targeted account groups or product segments.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with engineers, customers and suppliers through regular calls (phone, email and in-person), timely follow-up, and networking at industry/vendor events and sales meetings.
- Provides sales assistance to customers and our account managers by engaging internal and external resources; including identifying product opportunities.
- Submit salesperson reports in a timely manner following company protocol.
- Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: At least 3-5 years sales experience with a proven track record of sales success and an understanding of the PVF industry. Engineering degree preferred, but not required, related field or equivalent work experience will be taken into consideration.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: Field sales, customer sites, offices, manufacturing facilities, and other environments. Paramount Supply office check-ins and some office work expected.
