Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems, including security, surveillance, and telecommunications. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various low voltage systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Duties
- Install and maintain low voltage systems such as CCTV, fire alarms, and intrusion detection systems (IDS)
- Conduct system design and layout for new installations, ensuring adherence to NEC standards
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for cabling and installation tasks
- Perform field service tasks including troubleshooting and repair of existing systems
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide recommendations for alarm system sales
- Read and interpret schematics to ensure proper installation and functionality of systems
- Provide technical support for remote access software related to security systems
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician in low voltage applications
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with various hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts and computer hardware components
- Experience with cabling techniques specific to low voltage installations
- Knowledge of security systems, including sensors, surveillance equipment, and telecommunication technologies
- Previous experience in construction or locksmithing is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail

- General understanding of a voltmeter
- Able to pull wire/attic work
- Terminate CAT6 cables, RJ 45s
- Terminate RG 59 Siamese cable/BNCs
- Punch down on patch panels
- Computer networking knowledge
- Have installed cameras (residential or commercial)
- Have installed alarms (residential or commercial)
- BASA/FASA certified
- Own basic hand tools
- Good customer service skills
- Able to work on ladders/lifts
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and advance
