Experienced Gear Cutter Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in gear cutting or precision machining required
- Experience with both manual and CNC machines required
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T required
- Knowledge of gear types (spur, helical, bevel, spline) required
- Experience with gear hobbing and shaping machines
- CNC programming or editing experience
- Experience with gear inspection tools (gear tooth micrometers, lead/profile testers)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Experienced Gear Cutter Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual gear cutting machines (hobbing, shaping)
- Set up and operate CNC gear cutting machines
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and gear specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, cutters, feeds, and speeds
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gear inspection equipment)
- Adjust machine offsets and tooling as needed
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
