THE OPPORTUNITY
The Front Office Manager is a key member of the hotel’s leadership team, responsible for all aspects of the Front Office operations including Front Desk, Valet, Guest Services, and Reservations. This role ensures seamless guest experiences, effective team leadership, and operational excellence while aligning with the hotel’s financial and service culture goals. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Front Office Manager collaborates closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, and Food & Beverage partners to deliver best-in-class hospitality.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of Front Desk and Valet
- Establish and enforce service standards, ensuring consistency and alignment with Paramount Hotels culture
- Monitor financial and departmental performance, including labor management, forecasting, and expense control.
Guest Experience & Relations
- Act as the hotel’s primary ambassador for guest service excellence.
- Proactively engage with guests to resolve issues, respond to feedback, and create personalized, memorable experiences.
- Implement service recovery programs that strengthen guest loyalty and online reputation (TripAdvisor, Revinate, OTAs).
Team Development & Oversight
- Recruit, train, mentor, and retain a motivated front office team.
- Supervise and develop Front Desk Supervisors and agents, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and empowerment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and recognition programs.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Partner with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Restaurant tenant to ensure smooth communication and operational coordination.
- Participate in revenue management discussions to optimize room inventory, upselling programs, and guest spend.
- Collaborate with Sales and Events teams to deliver seamless group arrivals, VIP stays, and special events.
Safety & Compliance
- Uphold safety, security, and compliance standards for staff and guests.
- Ensure adherence to state and local regulations, as well as hotel policies.
Administration & Reporting
- Prepare and analyze departmental budgets, forecasts, schedules, and KPIs.
- Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the General Manager and ownership.
KEY OUTCOMES – First Year
- Elevate Guest Service Scores – improve guest satisfaction metrics by implementing proactive service recovery and engagement strategies.
- Strengthen Team Culture – Build a high-performing, empowered team through structured training, coaching, and recognition programs.
- Operational & Financial Efficiency – Optimize scheduling, labor utilization, and departmental processes to meet budget and service benchmarks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 5 years of progressive hotel front office leadership experience, including at least 2 years in a senior management role.
- Experience in luxury or upper-upscale hotels strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and people-management skills with proven ability to build high-performing teams.
- Financial acumen: labor management, forecasting, and budget accountability.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and poise under pressure.
- Strong working knowledge of hotel property management systems (Oracle Opera Cloud is a plus!) and Microsoft Office Suite.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Full-time position. Weekend/Holiday availability as business requires.
- Hands-on leadership role; must be comfortable stepping into operational duties when needed.
