Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Part-Time History Teacher to teach U.S. History, World History, and Sociology to high school students. This role requires someone who can bring historical content to life while helping students make meaningful connections between the past, present, and future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00AM-12:00PM)
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in U.S. History, World History, and Sociology
- Foster critical thinking, discussion, and historical inquiry in the classroom
- Design assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curricular alignment and support student success
- Encourage a respectful and inclusive classroom culture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid teaching certification or equivalent preferred
- Experience in international or diverse classroom settings is a strong asset
- Excellent communication, planning, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to student engagement and historical literacy
Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-time: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
- $35/hour, paid biweekly
- Estimated 9-10 hours per week, depending on teaching load
