Paramont Machine Company (PMC) is growing their team and looking for a Production Planner! In this role you will create, manage, and optimize the production schedule to meet customer demand efficiently while minimizing costs and inventory levels. Effective team collaboration across departments is crucial in this role to coordinate workflows, materials, and labor, utilizing the ERP/MRP system (Oracle E1) to ensure timely delivery of finished products.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling: Develop detailed, achievable production schedules (daily/weekly/monthly) based on material availability, labor, and machine capacity.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, managing stock to avoid shortages while preventing overstocking.
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Use MRP system (Oracle E1) to ensure necessary components are available to meet production schedules.
- Purchasing: Secure and negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery times with suppliers. Enter and track all purchase orders.
- Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with sales and manufacturing to ensure purchasing and production schedule match with customer demands.
- Performance Reporting: Generate reports on production performance, efficiency, and KPIs for management.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, reduce downtime, and apply lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, purchasing or materials management in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NAV) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and supply chain principles.
- Ability to analyze large datasets to forecast demand and optimize scheduling.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar, such as those from ASCM (formerly APICS) preferred but not required.
