Job Summary:
The Engineering Technologist will assist in the design, development, and testing of aerospace and turbomachinery components in support of customer programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the engineering team in developing design sketches, layouts, schematics, 3D models, and drawings.
- Assist in the selection of materials and components and help identify product specifications.
- Support the definition of input boundary conditions (loads, pressures, temperatures, etc.) for analysis.
- Perform basic hand calculations or assist with finite element analysis (FEA) under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Help review test data and model results, identify discrepancies, and propose design improvements.
- Participate in team meetings to establish project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal or customer review.
- Support project activities to meet schedule and budget requirements.
Requirements (Education & Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, or related technical field. Will consider applicants with an Associate technical degree in Engineering or related field.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience (internship or co-op experience strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, Fluent, CFX, etc. is a plus.
- Basic proficiency with CAD Modeling tools – Unigraphics, ProE, Autocad, Catia, etc. is a plus.
- Understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerances, materials.
- Microsoft Office Products – Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Interpersonal skills – able to work well with and motivate/teach others.
- Must be able to multi-task as required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical direction.
