Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Refrigeration Technician to join our production team. This role is critical in the assembly, testing, and optimization of high-precision environmental control systems. You will be responsible for transforming raw components into fully operational, high-performance refrigeration units, ensuring every system meets our rigorous quality and safety standards.
Core Responsibilities
- System Assembly: Safely and precisely integrate compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion valves into specialized production units.
- Technical Fabrication: Expertly bend, shape, and solder refrigeration lines; perform vacuum pulls, leak checks, and system purges to ensure integrity.
- Precision Charging: Calculate and charge systems with the correct refrigerant type and volume according to exact engineering specifications.
- Diagnostics & Calibration: Utilize advanced gauges and diagnostic instruments to test system operation, troubleshoot errors, and adjust valves for optimal performance.
- Maintenance & Repair: Identify defective components or mechanisms, performing necessary repairs or replacements to bring systems back to peak operating condition.
- Finishing: Apply professional insulation and wrapping to completed assemblies to ensure thermal efficiency and aesthetic quality.
Physical Requirements & Safety
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform precise soldering and assembly in varied configurations.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift up to 70 lbs with the use of mechanical assistance (hoists, dollies, etc.).
- Equipment Operation: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace; operate a forklift as needed for material movement.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in HVAC/R assembly or field service.
Versatility: A "team-first" mentality with a willingness to assist in other production areas as needed to meet deadlines.
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
