Job Title: Sustainer Program Manager
Reports To: Associate Director of Direct Marketing
Position Overview: The Sustainer Program Manager will be responsible for developing all strategies and growing PVA’s existing recurring monthly giving program to maximize its potential for revenue and file stability. This position is responsible for enhancing, managing and coordinating all aspects of the sustainer program by overseeing the day-to-day operations. Self-starter responsible for leading the development and growth of the program in an omnichannel approach through mail, canvassing, email, text, and integration with digital channels. This position will create, set, and manage strategies to acquire new donors as well as convert existing one-time donors to sustainer. This position will utilize analytics to monitor and optimize fundraising efforts, uncover new opportunities, and guide budgeting. The Sustainer Program Manager will leverage best practices as well as bring new and innovative ideas based on data driven insights and donor research. The Sustainer Program Manager will manage external partner agencies and lead collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Position responsibilities and duties:
- Create and implement annual and multi-year plans to maximize sustainer growth.
- Identify and direct investments for new and existing programs designed to acquire, convert, retain, and recapture sustaining donors with the goal of increasing PVA’s sustainers population.
- Align direct mail offline/online sustainers to create one-unified strategy with different messaging options.
- Develop and direct execution of strategy for monthly giving program through multiple channels (direct mail, online, canvassing, etc.)
- Direct and lead monthly giving program operations, including providing donor services to recurring donors.
- Assist the Director with annual revenue and expense planning, budgeting, and monthly reforecasting.
- Develop retention strategies to ensure maximum sustainer retention is achieved.
- Develop and monitor sustainer program KPIs.
- Establish incentive structure and recognition plan for sustainers.
- Explore testing new channels and payment options.
- Research and identify trends in other monthly giving programs and bring new ideas to the team.
- Optimize under-utilized opportunities in other channels and initiatives.
- Work with gift processing, donor services, and other staff to assess and implement improvements to existing backend processes, procedures and vendors.
- Collaborate with Individual Giving as donors reach the Individual Giving threshold.
- Investigate means to improving cost-efficiency for all initiatives for which responsible.
- Assist with other tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in the field of direct response marketing or Development.
- Experience with a sustainer program at a nonprofit organization or in a similar capacity with emphasis on campaign management.
- The ability to lead projects that involve multiple departments, consultants, and vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail.
- Must be very competent at reporting data relating to program performance.
- Knowledge of donor databases/CRM.
- Advanced EXCEL knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Related job experience in all channels of direct response marketing with experience in leading and growing monthly giving program revenue.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards governing direct mail, email, and canvassing solicitation operations.

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
