Job Summary
As a Package Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our logistics and distribution processes. You'll be responsible for handling, packaging, sorting, and moving packages within our office space, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. This position demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in health and safety protocols.
Duties
- Package Handling: Assisting with pulling and sorting package s efficiently and accurately. This includes lifting, carrying, and pushing of various sizes.
- Sorting: Organize materials and packages based on destination, delivery method, and other criteria. Maintain an organized and tidy workspace to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Scanning and Packaging: Use scanning and printing devices to effectively package products into shipping materials. Ensure proper documentation and labeling of packages.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming materials for faulty items and ailments in shipping materials. Report any issues to supervisors promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines at all times. Usage of gloves, aprons, scissors, sharp materials, and more may be required for the role.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet productivity targets and deadlines. Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate tasks and resolve any issues that arise.
- Customer Service: Handle packages with care to ensure that products arrive in excellent condition. Provide updates or concerns to the executive team as they arise.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous work experience in an office setting or similar environment is preferred but not required.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift objects occasionally.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in package handling and sorting.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
Physical Requirements/Expectations:
- Ability to lift and handle packages weighing up to 30 pounds or more.
- Standing, walking, bending, sitting, and stooping for extended periods.
- In-person position.
- Keep workstations tidy and clean by wiping down tables at the end of every shift.
- Breaking down boxes and carrying landfill to the disposable bins.
Pay Structure:
- Hourly: $15/hr
- Hours per week: 5-10 hours based on workload
- Please note that the hours are flexible. During busy seasons, hours can increase to 20 hours per week. During the unlikely event of slow seasons, it is possible to receive 0-5 hours of time for that particular week.
- Pay schedule: bi-weekly
- Payment Method: Electronic Transfer via Paypal or Zelle or Direct Deposit.
- This is an independent contractor position. The contractor will be responsible for paying taxes on the income they receive. A 1099 form will be mailed to the contractor in January of 2026.
