Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for patients, ensuring appropriate time slots, facilities, and resources are available.
- Collaborate with physicians, surgical teams, and patients to determine the optimal timing for surgeries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding surgical scheduling. Address patient questions, concerns, and inquiries in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Communicate detailed information about surgical procedures, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care.
- Maintain records of all scheduled surgeries, and relevant medical documentation. Update electronic health records (EHR) and other databases accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork, consent forms, and insurance authorizations are completed and submitted as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Proven experience in surgical scheduling or healthcare administration, preferably in a physician practice or hospital setting.
- Excellent customer service and computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Friendly, personable demeanor
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task
