Who We Are
At Parakeet Café, we are redefining the café experience with a chef-driven, clean menu and a culture built on positivity, accountability, and growth. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Senior HR Manager to help build our people, strengthen our culture, and support our next phase of growth.
Position Reports to CEO.
What You’ll Do
- Drive HR strategy aligned with company growth and goals
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and talent development across all cafés
- Build strong leaders and future bench strength
- Manage employee relations and foster a positive, high-performance culture
- Oversee HR operations, payroll alignment, and compliance (CA labor laws)
- Manage HRIS (ADP), timekeeping accuracy, and employee data
- Lead benefits administration and open enrollment
- Oversee terminations and ensure full compliance
- Build performance management systems and coach leaders
- Use HR metrics to drive better decisions and results

What You Bring
- 3-5 years HR experience (3 years leadership a plus)
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws
- Hospitality experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with HRIS systems (ADP preferred)
- Bilingual is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- $110,000 salary 10% annual bonus

- $100/month phone reimbursement
- $150/month café gift card (Friends and Family use)
- Free meals during café visits
- Mileage reimbursement outside San Diego
Additional Expectations
- Open availability (including weekends/holidays as needed)
- ~15% travel to café locations
- High ownership, accountability, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
