Explore new modalities and specializations and advance into leadership as we expand statewide.Position OverviewThe HR & Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring Paragon operates with excellence, fairness, and full regulatory compliance. This position supports the full employee lifecycleincluding hiring, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and risk mitigationwhile promoting alignment with Paragons mission and values. The ideal candidate excels in detail-oriented work, communication, problem-solving, and cross-departmental collaboration.Key Responsibilities1. Organizational Collaboration & EfficiencyPromote cross-departmental collaboration to improve communication, unity, and operational efficiency across Paragon.Foster collaboration and accountability within the Paragons team.2. Talent Acquisition & Hiring PracticesEnsure consistent, equitable, and compliant hiring processes, including job design, posting, interviewing, and selection.Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements and desired qualifications.Conduct initial screening interviews to evaluate candidate fit with Paragons culture and values.Initiate and monitor the pre-hire process, ensuring completion of required documentation, references, and background checks.3. Onboarding, Training & Professional DevelopmentManage all aspects of new-hire onboarding, including orientation, documentation, system setup, and benefits enrollment.Coordinate required onboarding and annual trainings, monitor completion, and maintain accurate training and compliance records.4. Employee Relations & Workplace CultureSupport employee relations, including investigations and conflict resolution, and partner on culture-building and engagement initiatives.Serve as a point of escalation for employee grievances, investigations, conflict mediation, and disciplinary processes.Promote a workplace culture rooted in respect, collaboration, accountability, and trust.Conduct climate and engagement assessments in collaboration with the Quality Director.5. Compensation, Benefits & HR AdministrationOversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with regulations.Partner with finance leadership to align salary structures and benefits with organizational budgets.Monitor QuickBooks Time entries to ensure accurate timekeeping.Ensure accurate processing of payroll data, benefits enrollment, and compliance reporting.Verify compliance for out-of-state employee payroll tax requirements.Support benefits enrollment and changes during onboarding or qualifying life events.Support final pay processing and complete separation documentation.Manage BambooHR offboarding tasks to ensure smooth employee transitions.6. Compliance, Legal & Risk ManagementEnsure adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws (EEO, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, etc.).Establish and maintain policies and procedures for DTO, FMLA, and FAMLI leave management.Prepare and maintain documentation for audits, funders, accreditation, and regulatory reviews.Manage employee complaints confidentially and conduct investigations as needed.Maintain current knowledge of labor laws and update organizational policies accordingly.Serve as liaison to legal counsel and compliance partners for HR-related matters.Organize, maintain, and regularly audit all HR and staff files, including licenses, certifications, vaccine records, and ongoing training documentation to ensure compliance and audit readiness.Prepare compliance metrics and reports related to training, audits, workforce trends, and documentationQualificationsEducation: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Compliance, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience)35 years of professional experience in HR, compliance, or risk management functionsExperience:2 years of experience in HR administration, compliance, or training coordination.Working knowledge of BambooHR, QuickBooks,Google Workspace, LMS platforms, and Violet (or similar systems).Strong organizational and data management skills with high attention to accuracy.Multi-state employment law complianceOnboarding, payroll processes, and benefits administrationExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, credentialing, immunization tracking).Experience managing training programs or compliance audits.Intermediate Excel/Google Sheets skills for data analysis and reporting.Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving organizational environmentLanguage Skills: Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.Job DetailsType: Full-TimeLocation: Lakewood or Centennial, Colorado (Hybrid)Department: AdministrationSchedule: Monday - Friday standard business hours.3 days/week in either the Centennial or Lakewood OfficeSalary: $75,000-$85,000BenefitsPaid health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability insurance.Flexible work hoursDiscretionary Time Off (DTO)401(k)retirement planEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Professional development supportReferral bonusesDiversity & InclusionParagon Behavioral Health Connections is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
