What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regulatory Specialist position at Paragon Water?
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Paragon’s product certification and regulatory efforts to enable worldwide sale of water treatment products.
- Serve as the point of contact for certification entities, regulatory agencies, and independent laboratories including WQA, NSF, IAPMO, and other international bodies.
- Manage and maintain Private Label (ANF) listings and ensure accurate documentation for all certifications.
- Handle state product registrations (applications, renewals, modifications) and maintain compliance with FIFRA and state EPA registration requirements.
- Organize and maintain Paragon’s test report tracking system and documentation library.
- Prepare and submit product certification applications, supporting documentation, and physical samples for testing and evaluation.
- Partner with 3rd party suppliers and overseas manufacturers to coordinate certifications, registrations, and required inspections.
- Communicate and collaborate with FilterPro’s Regulatory Department and other company divisions as needed.
- Assist in managing regulatory project budgets and expense tracking.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide documentation for compliance with standards such as California Prop 65, ACS (France), REACH, RoHS, WaterMark (Australia), and others.
Preferred Industry Experience:
Experience working within regulatory compliance related to:
- Water treatment or filtration
- Food and beverage manufacturing or packaging
- Hospitality or facility management environments involving water systems
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous product certification experience required, ideally in water, food/beverage, or similar regulated industries.
- Technical understanding of materials and their interaction with drinking water or food-contact products preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to coordinate effectively across teams and external partners.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proactive, self-directed work style with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint); experience with project tracking tools preferred.
- Experience interacting with certification agencies (State Certification, EPA, FDA, NSF, etc.).
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to generate clear and accurate reports on project status and spending.
- Overtime may be required for communication with overseas teams.
- Travel not expected.
