Senior Systems Administrator
The Senior Systems Administrator provides lead-level systems administration, operations, and maintenance support for SDDC installation, brigade, battalion, and detachment-level environments. This role serves as the technical focal point at assigned locations and supports mission-critical classified and unclassified systems across NIPR, SIPR, and CENTRIXS networks. The position requires hands-on technical expertise, on-call support, and the ability to operate independently in geographically dispersed environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead systems administrator and primary technical point of contact for assigned SDDC installation/BDE/BN/DET locations
- Perform day-to-day administration of Windows-based server environments supporting mission systems
- Install, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot server platforms and supporting infrastructure
- Administer Active Directory environments
- Support virtualized and remote-access environments
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability across supported enclaves
- Implement and maintain DISA STIG compliance for all systems within the area of responsibility
- Track, document, and remediate vulnerabilities; develop and maintain POA&Ms
- Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities by producing required technical artifacts
- Respond to hardware/software incidents within required response timelines
- Provide on-site and on-call support during outages, contingencies, emergencies, and exercises
- Participate in continuity of operations efforts, including documentation and recovery support
- Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system documentation
- Coordinate daily with local cyber operations teams and provide remote support to subordinate units and detachments as required
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Active SECRET clearance
- 8 years of systems administration experience in DoD or enterprise IT environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting NIPR/SIPR networks
- Experience serving in a lead or senior technical role
- Security CE certification
