Paragon Sports Constructors is the leading turn-key contractor of natural and synthetic turf sports fields, running tracks, and tennis courts in the south-central United States. In addition to our core services, we also manage small stadium and facility renovations that include lighting, bleachers, press boxes, parking, and pavements. We are seeking a reliable and dependable full-time Mechanic to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas.
The mechanic will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks of maintenance, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensure all machinery is in optimal working condition. The successful candidate will help maintain a fleet of heavy iron that includes dozers, graders, tractors, pavers, and other specialized equipment used in the construction and installation of natural grass and turf playing fields and running tracks.
This position will report to the Equipment Manager to maintain our fleet. This position requires the ability to diagnose and fix machinery, provide routine maintenance needs, and maintain a safe working environment.
Mechanic responsibilities:
- Diagnosing mechanical issues on diesel and gas power equipment
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, and washes.
- Repair or replace defective parts such as brakes, electrical components, or others as needed.
- Fabricate components as needed to ensure proper functionality of equipment or be able to help design and communicate fabrication needs with necessary vendors.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Occasional travel to project sites.
Mechanic qualifications:
- Proven experience as a mechanic. 5 years of experience preferred; fewer years will be considered with references.
- Own your own standard tools. Specialty tools may be purchased as needed by the company to help perform tasks; such tools will remain the property of the company.
- Safely operate a forklift and other, similar warehouse equipment.
- Natural problem solver. Able to dig into mechanical issues, diagnose, and provide solutions.
- Team oriented attitude. This role will work independently and also with others as; must understand how the role contributes to the overall success of the company.
- Welding experience a plus.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment. Able to lift heavy loads exceeding 40lbs repetitively if needed.
- Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency when called for.
- Education – high school diploma or GED. Technical certificate or trade school a plus.
- Must have a valid Texas drivers license.

Compensation is based on the candidate’s experience. This position is an hourly position with the opportunity to earn an annual bonus after one-year, based on a combination of individual and company performance.
