What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Technician position at Paragon Security & Locksmith?
Job Summary:
- System Installation – Install and configure security-related low voltage systems, including CCTV cameras, access control, intercom systems, A/V setups, and networking equipment.
- Device Programming – Program and configure CCTV, intercoms, access control devices, and related security equipment to meet system requirements and ensure full functionality.
- System Testing & Troubleshooting – Perform diagnostics, identify and resolve technical issues, and verify optimal performance of all security systems.
- Maintenance & Upgrades – Conduct routine maintenance, apply software/firmware updates, and recommend improvements or system enhancements when needed.
- Documentation – Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, service work, programming, testing, and system configurations.
- Client Support – Communicate clearly with clients, explain system features, provide basic training, and respond to service requests professionally.
- Safety Compliance – Follow all safety standards and company protocols; promote safe work practices and mentor junior staff when required.
- Team Collaboration – Work closely with project managers, engineers, and fellow technicians to deliver high-quality, timely security system installations.
Required Experience
- Proven experience in CCTV installation and programming is a must.
- Proven experience in intercom installation and programming is a must.
- Strong background in low voltage security systems (access control, cabling, networking, etc.).
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
